Job Description
- Main duties and responsibilities
- Conduct on-going preventive maintenance and upkeep of maintenance services.
- Ensure that all the maintenance activities and systems adhere to the standards / efficiency / productivity levels that have been set for the unit.
- Ensure the hotel meets health and safety standards in line with company Hamp;S Audit standards.
- Arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms, public areas and facilities.
- Organise all projects in a manner that does not disturb guests.
- Oversee all aspects of projects -the coordination and completion on time within budget and within scope.
- Oversee the day to day functioning of the Maintenance and Gardens teams.
- Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of projects.
- Act fast to resolve emergency issues.
- Find ways to reduce hotel operating costs and conserve energy.
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
- Maintain budgets, expenses, activity logs and asset registers.
- Coordinate with Executive Housekeeper, Front of House Manager and other Head of Departments on preventive maintenance of rooms and other repair work.
- Develop, update and implement the department’s Standard Operating Procedure manuals.
- To maximize staff performance through the establishment of performance standards, coaching and performance evaluation on an ongoing basis.
- Conduct formal performance reviews via Talent Toolbox.
- Responsible for the overall morale of the team and to be available to listen to individual staff members needs when required.
- To maintain appropriate standards regarding conduct, uniform and appearance of the team.
- Establishes sustainability project goals, objectives, and strategies; creates and implements plans for related projects.
- Evaluates sustainability initiatives considering factors such as cost and feasibility.
- Drafts and delivers presentations and reports to communicate sustainability initiatives and their effectiveness and environmental impact.
- Identifies and obtains resources needed to develop sustainability programs or projects.
- Champion for LVMH Cascade Reporting and EarthCheck Benchmarking programs.
- Chairs the hotel’s Sustainability Committee for Environment and CSR.
Requirements
- The candidate must be legally allowed to work in France of have a passport belinging to a EU county.
- Fluent in English, being able to communicate in French is a must.
- Experience in hospitality / resort style
- Master degree in engineering management, technical management, or business administration.
- A degree in environmental science or proven track record of on the job experience
